TENNIS FOR JUNIORS AT HEADSTONE

This junior members are divided into a Cadet and Junior section.  This is based on age not ability and is reflected in their annual subscription rates.

The Cadet/Junior section is vital to the future of the club and at Headstone we encourage as many children as possible to play tennis.  The older, more able juniors are invited to play in senior matches and club senior tournaments.

Our junior teams are entered in the Middlesex Aegon Junior League and in a winter league (playing in various age groups) thereby giving them match experience, which they really enjoy.

We hold a Junior Club Championship every year with a presentation evening in November, when our Chairman presents trophies to the winners & runners up of the various age groups plus special awards to the most improved boy & girl player.

Juniors & Cadets have priority on the courts on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m until 1 p.m.  Four coaching sessions are run during the morning.  These sessions are divided into age groups ranging from 5 to 18 year olds.  There is also coaching during the week.  The number of coaches working at Headstone allows the groups to be small giving the children as much attention as possible.

Friday Night is Junior Night & BBQ ( 6-8 p.m.) during the spring/summer months (April - September). All Juniors & Cadets are encouraged to play tennis and generally have a fun evening, the bar's open so it's a fun evening for parents too!  Members are allowed to invite a friend at a small charge. During the winter, weather permitting, this night changes to Wednesdays 5-7 p.m. without the BBQ!!!

We offer a special Parent Membership, allowing parents to play only with their children at off-peak times.

Apart from the regular coaching sessions, Anthony, our coach, and his team run holiday sports camps.  These could be half day, full day or full week sessions.
